MIL-DTL 38999 connector accommodates 300 contacts
October 7, 2008--ITT Interconnect Solutions has developed a high density connector with more than double the number of contacts found in standard MILDTL 38999 connectors. Designated the KJA 300 Series, the connector accommodates 300 size 22D contacts in a single package while meeting all MIL-DTL 38999 specifications.
TIA revises standard on terminal equipment connectors
October 7, 2008--The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) has published TIA-1096-A, Telecommunications, Telephone Terminal Equipment, Connector Requirements for Connection of Terminal Equipment to the Telephone Network--a revision that corrects an error to TIA-1096, in which figures identified as showing an 8-positioned keyed plug had actually depicted a non-keyed plug.
New study shows FTTH is a green technology
October 6, 2008 -- Updating the last mile in America's telecommunications networks with high-bandwidth, direct fiber-optic connections to homes and businesses will deliver substantial environmental benefits in the short term--outweighing the environmental costs of deployment in as little as six years, claims a study released this week by the consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
