Sumitomo Electric boosts 10G long reach optical transceiver portfolio
September 18, 2008 -- Sumitomo Electric Industries is expanding its 10 Gbps portfolio with the introduction of an integrated direct modulation laser diode (DML) and a built-in electronic dispersion compensation (EDC) feature for use in the company's 80 km transceivers. Sumitomo will showcase the product at the upcoming ECOC 2008 in Brussels.

September 17, 2008 -- Amphenol Fiber Systems International (AFSI) has introduced its APC29504-series fiber optic termini and APC28876-series fiber optic connectors. The APC29504-series terminus design is based on the field-based MIL-PRF-29504/14 and /15 fiber optic termini standard. Similarly, the APC28876 series connectors are based on MIL-PRF-28876 series connectors.
