PCB-mounting receptacle offers IP67 performance
September 24, 2008--Tyco Electronics Corp. has added a PC board-mounting receptacle to its rugged sealed line of Industrial Ethernet RJ-45 connectors. The new connector uses a through-hole mounting, with two plastic legs providing additional mechanical retention before and after soldering. The connectors are threaded for panel mounting, and are supplied with a coupling nut.
Phyworks' equalizer chip clears way to 8.5G Fibre Channel upgrades
September 22, 2008 -- Phyworks has introduced an equalizer and retimer receiver designed to greatly simplify the upgrade of existing 4.25G Fibre Channel equipment to full 8.5 Gbps operation. A highly integrated chip, the PHY1068, offers the functionality needed to double the speed of legacy backplanes, without expensive chassis upgrades.
