November 4, 2008--E-tec's elastomer sockets are designed for testing and prototyping up to 10 GHz. Features include a full grid contact for any grid design, acceptance of any pitch down to 0.30 mm, short current paths of 0.50, and 1.00-mm thick elastomer interposers.
Amphenol debuts solar panel connector
November 3, 2008--Amphenol Industrial now offers a low-loss 4-mm Helios H4 connector for photovoltaic systems. It features a locking design to meet NEC 2008, and improved gasket materials designed to enhance reliability for long-term use. The connector includes a TUV-compliant touch-proof casing designed for increased product and user safety.
Omnetics develops high-rel polarized nano
November 3, 2008--Omnetics Connector Corp. is offering a new series of miniature polarized nano connectors for military, aerospace, defense, and medical applications where size and weight are critical. Insulators are designed to hold one row of pins and one row of sockets, which polarizes the connector without the space typically required for guide pins.
Tyco introduces LCD coax connectivity
November 3, 2008--Tyco Electronics' next generation LCD coaxial connector family, LCD Coaxial Embedded Display Interface (LCEDI), offers full intermateability with I-PEX Co., LTD CABLINE-VS product series under terms of an agreed license. This combination of product lines will offer the flat panel display (FPD) for computer and consumer industries a solution set for new applications of embedded DisplayPort Technology, as well as other high-speed video interconnect standards.
San-tron debuts field-replaceable SMAs
November 3, 2008--San-tron Inc. has unveiled a line of field-replaceable SMAs for applications from DC to 26.5 GHz (and with useable performance to 31 GHz). The connector families include models for mating with 0.012-, 0.015-, 0.018-, and 0.020-inch center pins to accommodate a wide range of RF/microwave circuit dimensions, with the smallest center pins offering the best high-frequency performance.
Eraser unveils portable coax stripper
November 3, 2008--Eraser's Model 824 Portable Coaxial Cable Stripper is battery operated, weighs 2 pounds, and can be used to strip RGU, semi-rigid, plenum, and heliax cables. Model 824 can also process semi-rigid cable up to.141 inches OD.

Sealevel's PCI Express serial interface adds twin RS-232/422/485 ports
October 30, 2008 -- Sealevel Systems has introduced a 2-port PCI Express serial interface adapter featuring an advanced UART architecture, dubbed the COMM+2.PCIe. According to the company, the high-performance 16C950 UART includes 128-byte FIFOs, 8x larger than those found on comparable serial adapters.
Neutrik intros low voltage camera/singlemode hybrid cable
October 29, 2008 -- Neutrik has expanded its opticalCON line of pre-assembled mobile field cables to include what the company calls "a camera link set up," dubbed the opticalCON Low Voltage Camera / Single mode Hybrid cable. The pre-terminated cable offering is designed for broadcast applications including touring staging productions, live performances and mobile broadcast studios/trucks.
