Tyco unveils snap-lock SMA

December 3, 2008--Tyco Electronics' Snap-Lock SMA series plug connector is compatible with a standard SMA jack connector. It features inner contact fingers that slide over the threads of the mating SMA jack and lock into place by engaging the outer collar. Disengagement is achieved by pulling back on the outer collar. The design reduces wear on the components and saves time in mating and unmating.

This SMA connector series is suited for test and instrumentation purposes, as well as mobile base station filters and cable assemblies. It is also an option for customers who like the quick release capability but are concerned with backward compatibility of existing equipment or systems.

The Snap-Lock SMA Series is offered in straight and right-angle cable plug configurations, and as a SMA jack to Snap-Lock SMA plug adapter. The series has an operating temperature range of -65º to +165° C, 50 Ohms impedance, and designed for excellent performance at frequencies up to 6 GHz.
