May 14, 2008 -- The National Electrical Wire Processing Technology Expo will be held May 21 – 22 at the Midwest Airlines Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The show is billed as "tailored expressly for those in the electrical wire and cable processing and related industries, [attracting] industry buyers who normally do not attend other assembly and industrial shows."
The event will feature a series of seminars hosted by Connector Specifier, with presentations by experts from around the industry. This year's show will also offer several free round-table presentations with noted industry experts; reservations for these "face-to-face" sessions must be made in advance by contacting Jill Smart at 800-367-5520 or via email at expo@execpc.com.
Seminars for Wednesday, May 21 will include:
"Lead, Follow or Get Out of the Way – IPC/WHMA-A-620 ANSI Approved Industry Standard," by Jack Crawford, director of dertification & assembly technology, IPC.
"The Reality of Crimp Force Monitoring," by Rob Boyd, product manager, Schleuniger, Inc.
"Trends that Impact Automotive Wire Harness Design," by Jim Miller, superintendent of process engineering, Delphi Corporation.
Seminars for Thursday, May 22 will include:
"Problems with Miniaturization on Automotive Wire Harness Production," by Jim Miller, superintendent of process engineering, Delphi Corporation. . "Lean Policy Deployment – 10 Steps to Implementing Lean as a System," by Larry Rubrich, WCM Associates.
Thursday's round-table presentations include:
"Accounting for Lean – What Operations Needs to Know," by Larry Rubrich, WCM Associates.
"The Blinky Light Project – Harness In-Process Testing," by Phil McIlheran, Danfoss Company.
"Automation for Labeling – Taking Labor Out of the Equation," by Todd Fries, HellermannTyton.
The show's exhibition floor will feature suppliers and service companies in the wire and cable processing industry, displaying a range of electronic cable assemblies, cord sets, wiring harnesses and other products. Manufacturing industries represented will include those for: aeronautical/aerospace; computers and related equipment; household appliances; telecommunications; industrial equipment; medical equipment; motors and generators; scientific instruments; and automotive.
