May 12, 2008 -- Christopher Stevens has been promoted to general manager of Devcon (Danvers, MA), a manufacturer of adhesives and sealants for OEM assembly and products for plant and equipment maintenance, repair and overhaul.
According to a press release, Stevens joined Devcon in 2000 to develop a dual-front marketing and sales strategy for the company's two core businesses, OEM adhesives and maintenance/repair products. With his extensive knowledge of the chemical industry, in his new role Stevens is expected to identify and target assembly opportunities for Devcon's line of structural adhesives, while leveraging the brand in the maintenance and repair markets to ensure long-term sustainable growth.
Stevens earned his MBA from Babson College's Olin School of Business and his BS degree in mechanical engineering from Northeastern University. He currently resides in Kittery, ME with his wife and four children.
"Chris has been a key player on the Devcon management team, and I am confident that his leadership will contribute to Devcon's future growth in North America," says Sevan Demirdogen, vice president and general manager of ITW Performance Polymers, the Illinois Tool Works group that includes Devcon, as well as other companies that manufacture and sell OEM adhesives, sealants, and tapes; and automotive fluids and industrial maintenance products.
Devcon's products include high-strength epoxies, advanced methacrylates, fast-curing cyanoacrylates, UV light-cured adhesives, anaerobics, thread sealants, gasket makers, and epoxy coatings that protect against wear and abrasion, corrosion, and chemical attack.
