May 7, 2008 -- Tyco Electronics announced that it has had global representation and has played a major role at EDS 2008, held this week in Las Vegas.
The company hosted numerous meetings with its authorized distributors and manufacturer's representatives, and provided company and program updates and product training. Represented by global business reps from its electronic components business segment, Tyco Electronics says this year marks its largest presence ever at the trade show.
"Almost a year since separating from Tyco International, Tyco Electronics' focus on distribution is sharper than ever, and we are proud to take a leading role in EDS 2008. We have participated in this important event for many years, but this is the first time we have attended with a unified, global presence," comments Joan Wainwright, Tyco Electronics' senior vice president of marketing and communications. "We've looked forward to spending valuable time with our distribution colleagues as we continue to evolve and improve our distribution program."
"We are very pleased that Tyco Electronics is bringing representatives from its worldwide operations for meetings at EDS," adds Gerald M. Newman, executive vice president of EDS. "Their activities further enhance the international networking opportunities at EDS and serve as an example for other companies in the electronics industry."
