April 29, 2008 -- Laird Technologies recently announced a joint venture with Texas Instruments (TI), as a member of TI's Low-Power RF Developer Network. The network allows Laird Technologies to be listed on TI's website as an official provider of modules and design services utilizing TI's silicon.
The companies says the mutually-beneficial relationship allows Laird Technologies to be treated as a strategic partner of TI's, gaining the attention and early adopter information from TI design teams that will allow Laird Technologies to develop products faster and provide the best solutions for TI customers. TI says it benefits by providing Laird Technologies' extensive RF design expertise to those customers who do not have in-house design capabilities or RF expertise to develop or use TI's silicon solutions. Additionally, TI customers can save time researching companies by going directly to Laird Technologies for required design services. "TI is pleased to have Laird Technologies as a member of our Low-Power RF Developer Network," comments Mark Grazier, TI's worldwide third-party program manager. "Laird Technologies provides a good perspective on market applications which use low-power wireless technology." "By continuing to aggressively expand technology coverage, enhance wireless performance, and reduce total costs for our customers, Laird Technologies is uniquely qualified to assist customers with TI-based solutions more efficiently and effectively than every before," adds Chris Shannon, general manager of Laird's Wireless Systems Product business unit.
